Psalm 118:19-23
“Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them and I will praise the Lord: This gate of the Lord into which righteous shall enter. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused has become the head of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
For the spirit filled believer, every day is a new adventure. As you come to the end of one year and prepare to enter a new one, you should do so with great anticipation. God is opening the gates for you. 2024 can be the greatest year you have ever experienced of your life.
Today’s passage provides five takeaways that, if applied, will make your new year great:
1. Go where the Lord leads you.
The Psalmist said, “I will go into them” When God opens a door, it is not only safe but also satisfying.
2. Live praising the Lord.
The Psalmist said as he goes into the gate, he will praise the Lord. Whatever God has in store for you is good. Follow His leadership, and you will succeed.
3. Live in righteousness.
God opens gates for those who do right. When you get to where He wants you to be, live righteously. Do His will.
4. Trust Him no matter how you are treated.
“Thou hast heard me and hast become my salvation.” Psalm 118:22 is a prophetic verse. Jesus was the rejected stone, but He became the corner stone as He walked in obedience with the Father.
5. Remember God is the One Who shapes the day. “This is the day which the Lord has made: we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Remember that attitude determines altitude. Praise God knowing He is in control. Determine to rejoice, and you will THRIVE.
